As our Data and Insights Engineer‚ you will support the end-to-end data pipeline processes‚ and visualisations and reporting‚ in order to provide insights that support data-driven decision making‚ and use data to help identify business or product opportunities that support our ambitious growth plans. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of business reporting using various business intelligence tools and databases and you will also be expected to provide ad-hoc data analysis and guidance for self-service reporting.

What you'll do
  • Work with the business stakeholders and other colleagues to identify‚ scope and document data needs and outcomes.
  • Be responsible for the production‚ ongoing management‚ and distribution of business reporting for internal business stakeholders‚ partners‚ and regulatory authorities.
  • Identify key trends and leverage these to provide change recommendations that derive incremental value to the business.
  • Provide work completion estimates and maintain a delivery roadmap.
  • Design and produce effective dashboard visualisations and other reporting.
  • Train and support staff on self-service reporting within the organisation.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing end-to-end data pipeline and data visualisations.
  • Using SQL‚ provide ad-hoc data analysis and queries across the business.
  • Maintain integrity and accessibility of data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the data pipeline and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree level education or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 2 years’ experience implementing data visualisation and reporting solutions.
  • At least 2 years’ experience of data pipeline development and support.
  • Expertise with one or more visualisation tools (for example‚ Power BI‚ Tableau‚ Looker Studio‚ Sisense‚ Superset‚ Qlik‚ Chartio‚ Domo or Grow).
  • Expertise with one or more ETL tools (for example DBT‚ Hadoop or Apache Airflow).
  • Excellent SQL scripting skills.

Desired Experience
  • Experience with DAX and Python.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and Google Sheets.

Skills
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing design concepts‚ relational databases‚ data management‚ data cleansing and dimension modelling.
  • Ability to gather requirements and manage stakeholders with good communication and organisation skills.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and decision-making skills and the proven ability to take ownership of fault management from diagnosis through to resolution.
  • Provide work-related information verbally in a clear‚ well-organized and concise manner.
